Release timeline

The changes that shaped the site

  1. Reliability

Creation gallery with stronger image loading

Added six real builder creations that reopen their matching number and layout. Every card takes visitors into the builder with the same starting number and arrangement, so they can inspect an example and keep building from it. If image delivery has a short cache failure, the gallery now automatically tries a fresh request up to twice instead of leaving a broken thumbnail.

  2. Start experience

    Direct launch from the preview

Opening the 3D Builder or its preview now starts the tool directly, without requiring a second play confirmation. The preview action creates Numberblock 1 and moves visitors to the game area, making the first build feel like one clear step instead of a two-stage hand-off.

  3. Quick start & mobile

Shareable presets and a better mobile workspace

Added one-tap 10, 12 Rectangle, and 25 Square starts with shareable links, so a parent, teacher, or friend can open the same starting idea. On phones, controls snap into a bottom panel that leaves more of the scene visible; landscape uses a scene-and-sidebar layout for easier adjustment.

  4. Builder range

Build whole numbers up to 1,000,000

Expanded the original builder from smaller values to whole numbers up to one million. Larger values use layouts adapted to their scale, while local saves and spoken-number feedback continue to work with the number being built.

  5. Play mode

Multiplication mode joins the 3D Builder

Added ×2 and ×10 controls alongside the existing number steps, so visitors can turn a current whole number into a new multiple in one action. The builder immediately creates the new character, making it easier to explore multiplication patterns without retyping each value.

  6. Sound

    More reliable spoken-number audio

Moved number speech to a maintained service run for this site, improving the voice path used by the original builder. This keeps the spoken-number feature aligned with the builder as it grows, rather than depending on an older external setup.

  7. Major release

    Original 3D Builder launched

Released the original Numberblocks character builder made for this site, rather than another embedded community project. It runs in the browser and lets visitors build a number, choose its layout, colour, face, material, and scene, then combine or split characters, save work on the device, and export a PNG image.

  8. Site milestone

    The site becomes multilingual

Added English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, and French routes alongside language controls. Visitors can choose a language from the site menu and keep that language while moving between the builder, version pages, guides, and site information.

  9. Site launch

    Numberblocks Generator launches

The first browser hub went live with playable generator paths, version comparisons, and a focus on quick, no-install access. It gave parents, teachers, and casual players one place to start a suitable version in the browser instead of searching through separate project pages.
